Thomas at 15 months

Well the little man just had his 15month check up with the new pediatrician this past week. Seems he has dropped a few pounds...Dont be alarmed! I dont have him on a diet. He just has been running around like a lunatic at the park, in the house, everywhere! He now weighs 26lbs 10oz and he is 31.25inches long. It puts him around the 60% percentile for kids his age.

He is finally talking! He says, "Hello", "All gone", "tickle tickle", "thank you" (sort of), "couchie couchie". He is clapping hands when ever he hears it on tv, he is blowing kisses, waving bye bye, and being generally alot more affectionate than he was! He is still however screeching a good bit but apparently that is a phase. Please god it will end soon! He also seems to be getting the message about sharing and giving. On several occasions he has handed something he was playing with to another child which is awesome! He loves loves loves other kids! Well thats all for now. Enjoy the photos and we hope everyone has a happy memorial weekend!

Thomas is One!

We had a really nice birthday party for Thomas on the Sunday after his birthday. His little buddies all joined us for some cake and treats. Yay for Thomas! He is now 25lbs, running all over the place, climbing stairs, and babbling all the time. He eats mostly everything that isnt baby food (very picky) and has even had and loved indian food! He is headed to Florida in a couple of weeks so we will have more photos of his big belly for you all then!

Thomas at 10 months

Look like anyone we know? Hehe. Thomas celebrated his 10month in style with all of his peeps at Erik's firm's kids' xmas party. He was awake for about 20 mins, met Santa, and checked out some "ladies".
As most of you know, he took off walking by himself two days before Thanksgiving and has been running ever since. He is into everything and Daddy finally had to install the childproof safety locks on the cabinet doors in the kitchen. By the way, that doesnt mean Thomas doesnt try to get into them. It just means he slobbers all over the cabinets and stands in front of them waiting for them to magically open. He's blabbering away still these days but nothing we can understand. He still will not participate in waving byebye or blowing kisses but he is doing a good job of imitating us in other ways. His two favorite shows are Sid the Science Kid and Superwhy (me thinks because of the music in them). He loves dancing to different kinds of music and stops whatever he is doing to dance when a good song comes on.
We havent weighed him in a while but he has grown about a half an inch in the last month just based on the fact that he is now hitting his head on the bottom of the pack and play changing table.
He has taken alot more of an interest in the dogs now that he can move around after them. Molly is wonderful with him...Bandit not so much.
He is sleeping about 11hours at night for us and takes roughly 2naps during the day. He is eating everything we put in front of him. We took him to Silver Diner yesterday and he ate half of Erik's cornbeef hash!
We have finally gotten him down to about 4-5bottles of formula everyday. Gone are the days of 2 cans per week! One can now lasts for at least a week if not longer.
We are heading up to Waverly for christmas to see the Koons zoo and co. Then we head off to sunny St. Thomas with our little St Thomas to celebrate the new year! What exciting times ahead for the little guy and he's not even 1 yet!

Thomas at the end of 8 months

So I am little behind with the posting as Thomas will be 9months tomorrow but anyways.

Here are some photos of the little guy. He weighs 26lbs now. He is free-standing alot and every now and then takes a few steps. He took his first steps the night of our friends Brian and Laura's wedding. We didnt see that feat. He is eating everything under the sun now except he has been really fussy the last fews days with solids. He is turning and shaking his head when we try to feed him which is getting to be very exasperating. He was a cowboy for halloween and is looking forward to his first thanksgiving and chri'tmas coming up!

Other than that he is great. Sleeping through the night most nights and being really cute all day long. LOVE HIM LOVE HIM LOVE HIM!!!

Shane Daniel Larkin Arrived!

Our newest nephew arrived in the middle of the last night. Shane Daniel Larkin weighed in at 7lbs 7oz and 20.4 inches long. Erik and I have yet to see him but from the photos he looks just like Kaitlyn did when she was born. Pauline is doing great and from what I understand the second name is in tribute to my mother's grandfather, Daniel. Congrats Pauline and Shane!

Thomas in West Virgnia during Fran's visit

This was too funny a sign to pass up.

Thomas at 8 months

Thomas is now 8 months and boy is he all over the place. He's not only speed crawling, he's pulling himself up to standing up position, letting go for a brief few seconds, and trying to climb out of his pack and play. YIKEs! No one believes us when we tell them how old he is. He also now weighs 24 lbs, has 4 bottom teeth, and 6 upper teeth, and his eating stage 3 solids. He LOVES chicken just like his mama. He HATES getting his face and nose wiped. He is finally sleeping through the night again as we moved him up to his own room and tried ferberizing him which only took three nights really. He was pretty well-behaved on our recent flight to Puerto Rico.
Now Thomas is waiting patiently for the arrival of his new baby cousin tomorrow and very excited to see the Koons Zoo kids soon in Mississippi. If anyone wants to see some more pics of our Puerto Rico trip, send me on your email and Ill send the kodak album to you! sile625@yahoo.com

Floor mat and other news

Aside from a little baby puke on the floor mat, this was by far the best idea we have had in a long time to protect the hardwood floor and the rug. Our only problem now is that Thomas is flying around the house crawling. We are looking into entering him into the "Fastest Baby Crawler". So he doesnt stay on the mat anymore. Nothing is safe! Diapers are now serving as bumpers on the coffee table edges and tv unit doors. Thomas' favorite new food is sweet potato with chicken and Gerber's mango dessert.

Monkeying around

The first photo is of Thomas sleeping with his new chimp, George (not a slight on Uncle George but merely after Curious George) that he got from Fran last week. He loves it! The second photo is Thomas eating bread out at a restaurant with Nanny and Danda over the weekend. They took Thomas so we could go to Siobhan's wedding out in Long Island. The start of the wedding season is upon us!

Updates

Thomas was sick for his last trip to the pediatrician, so he wasnt given his shots and the doctor didnt check him out all that much. We were a little disappointed with the visit in general as we waited over an hour (past our appt time) to see the doctor. We've also had troubles getting a human on the phone over at the doctors office too. We had really liked the practice but now we are seriously thinking that the doctors are overwhelmed and there are always dozens of kids running around the waiting room. Even though the little guy was sick he still managed to smile and laugh at everyone. We go back in next week. As of this past weekend, Thomas now has four teeth fully out on top, the same two on the bottom, and two more poking through on the top. This coming week we will introduce some proteins into his solids diet (oh wonderful) and see how that treats his digestive system. He definitely doesnt like apples or bananas. But he sure does like sweet potatoes and squash and peas! We also started freezing yo baby yogurts for him to suck on to soothe his budding teeth. He has become absolutely charming and he looks into your face with this earnest gaze as if to say, "I like you. Now show me something new!" He loves the Gypsy Kings. And his first words............Dada.

New Floor Mat

Thomas loves his new ABC floor mat. He is still creeping off of it but its alot better than the quilt. He kept spitting up on it, then MOmmy would wash it, then Daddy would keep saying it reeked! So Mommy came up with this great idea. So far neither one of the dogs has chewed on it or pooped on it.

Nats game

So we took Thomas to his first Nats game last week. He kept trying to grab everybody's beer and finally collapsed and fell asleep for a good hour of the game. He even met Screech the mascot and wouldnt wake up for it!

Harrisburg and Hershey Park

The Koons tribe headed to PA on Saturday for an overnight trip as part of the Larkin summer staycation. Nanny and Danda picked a spot that was close for us to get to and for Shane and his family to get to. We stayed at the Hilton Towers in downtown Harrisburg which is quite a nice town. It also happens to be where John McCain was the very next day! We didnt get to see him but we have a photo here of Kaitlyn with his bus. We went to Hershey Park and a good day was had by all. Nanny took Thomas and Kaitlyn up to bed with her while we stayed with Danda and the rest of the Larkins at the hotel pub. Check out the Hershey kiss lamp posts in downtown Hershey! So cute!
