Updates

Thomas was sick for his last trip to the pediatrician, so he wasnt given his shots and the doctor didnt check him out all that much. We were a little disappointed with the visit in general as we waited over an hour (past our appt time) to see the doctor. We've also had troubles getting a human on the phone over at the doctors office too. We had really liked the practice but now we are seriously thinking that the doctors are overwhelmed and there are always dozens of kids running around the waiting room. Even though the little guy was sick he still managed to smile and laugh at everyone. We go back in next week. As of this past weekend, Thomas now has four teeth fully out on top, the same two on the bottom, and two more poking through on the top. This coming week we will introduce some proteins into his solids diet (oh wonderful) and see how that treats his digestive system. He definitely doesnt like apples or bananas. But he sure does like sweet potatoes and squash and peas! We also started freezing yo baby yogurts for him to suck on to soothe his budding teeth. He has become absolutely charming and he looks into your face with this earnest gaze as if to say, "I like you. Now show me something new!" He loves the Gypsy Kings. And his first words............Dada.

New Floor Mat

Thomas loves his new ABC floor mat. He is still creeping off of it but its alot better than the quilt. He kept spitting up on it, then MOmmy would wash it, then Daddy would keep saying it reeked! So Mommy came up with this great idea. So far neither one of the dogs has chewed on it or pooped on it.

Nats game

So we took Thomas to his first Nats game last week. He kept trying to grab everybody's beer and finally collapsed and fell asleep for a good hour of the game. He even met Screech the mascot and wouldnt wake up for it!

Harrisburg and Hershey Park

The Koons tribe headed to PA on Saturday for an overnight trip as part of the Larkin summer staycation. Nanny and Danda picked a spot that was close for us to get to and for Shane and his family to get to. We stayed at the Hilton Towers in downtown Harrisburg which is quite a nice town. It also happens to be where John McCain was the very next day! We didnt get to see him but we have a photo here of Kaitlyn with his bus. We went to Hershey Park and a good day was had by all. Nanny took Thomas and Kaitlyn up to bed with her while we stayed with Danda and the rest of the Larkins at the hotel pub. Check out the Hershey kiss lamp posts in downtown Hershey! So cute!

Cape May NJ

Thomas and Mommy went to Cape May for a few days to visit Auntie Anne. Poor Anne was all alone out there so part of the Koons tribe came to keep her company! The beach was so nice and so close to Anne's apartment. We had such a lovely time that we will definitely be back next summer!

Thomas at 6months

As most of you know, Thomas is growing ALOT. When we put him down for a nap, we swear he has grown when he wakes up! We will have more to write when he goes for his 6 wk ped visit next week, but for now here are some tidbits about the young Master Koons.

Thomas likes to have nice long chats with himself and his stuffed animals about all sorts of things. He likes to watch Bandit and Molly run around the room-gets him belly-laughing. He is sitting up by himself now. He is very inquisitive about his toys, like looking at what on the toy makes noise. He is great with new people and strangers. As we stroll around on walks, people are giggling with him as they pass by because he gives them big smiles. He is now 3 tooth Tommy although the 4th one is right there under the gum waiting to break thru. It almost has. He is whizzing around the house in his walker. He loves the beach! More photos to follow of our trip to the beach. He is not a fan of apples. He currently weighs 21lbs, which is double his birth weight. He is turning into a tow-head. Yep, and Sheila adamantly denies doing anything to his hair to turn him fair. He still has his big blue eyes. He is still creeping along the ground but gets up on all fours as though he is thinking about crawling. He is now holding his arms up to grab on to Mommy and Daddy. He is trying to drink from a sippy cup. Oh and he is almost potty trained (JUST KIDDING). The best thing about Thomas sitting up by himself now is that he can sit in a highchair at restaurants. He gets so excited with himself being in his own chair that he squeels and gets so giggly. We've even gotten quite a few compliments about how well behaved he is when we bring him to restaurants ! Hopefully, that will continue! Well thats all for now! Check back next week!
