Memorial Weekend 2008
We had a lovely weekend with Sheila's family and Sabrina and Ben. We went out on the boat on Saturday (Thomas went to Front Royal with Nanny instead) and then we went to a bbq on Sunday out at Shane and Pauline's house. We also met up with Paula who was visiting from Ireland and Erin who had just come back from London. Here are some photos of our fun weekend!

Piggy Mess
So its 2:15pm and I am still in my pjs and am a total piggy mess. I have spit-up all down my shoulder and there is slight hint of baby poop coming from somewhere on my person (I havent been able to locate where it is yet).Thomas is finally sleeping in his swing listening to Baby Mozart. I have to make sure that every now and then I re-press the settings on the swing so that it keeps swinging or else he wakes up and screams as though he has been bitten by a pack of rabid wolves. So I decided to start going through some of the photos and videos that were taken when I wasnt fully up and running after his birth. Im shocked at how he has grown! Anyways, Im going to put a few of these up over the next couple of days but for now here is one of Bandit's first encounter with Thomas. Im trying to find one of Molly but she really doesnt show much interest in Thomas- She just likes to hang out with Hobo Jim.

Bowling!
Ha! The Koons Tribe finally went bowling together for the first time this past Sunday. Brian and Laura joined us for the event. Sheila hasnt been bowling since she was a wee pup because she HATES bowling shoes- EEEEWWWW gross. But she sucked it up and had a great time with everyone. Erik was clearly the pro at the alley, scoring over 130 in every game. Thomas was very well-behaved too. Here are some photos from our evening. We will definitely be going back!

Mr. Handrick's 90th Bday Party, Mother's Day, and other Mischief
We spent this past weekend in upstate NY with Erik's mom. Irene was kind enough to babysit Thomas on Friday nite and Saturday day so that we could go to Belhurst Castle in Geneva NY to use our gift certifcate from Uncle Bruce, Aune Joyce, and Andy. We had a lovely time there and although we dont have any photos of the views of the Finger Lakes, we will definitely be going back! Thomas behaved himself for Irene and actually slept longer than he has ever slept before!! It seems he just likes being away from Arlington! On Saturday, we all went to Mr. Handrick's Surprise 90th Birthday party at his great-nephew's house. Thomas got to chill out with Don and his family and he was very very good for us. By that evening, we were all pooped out and were in bed by 11pm. We celebrated Mother's Day with Irene at Becky's Diner, where we ran into Uncle Dick and Aunt Theresa and the whole Koons gang. That was great fun and again Thomas was very very good. We also met some of Irene's friends and the Watsons. On our way out of town, we stopped at Mr. Handrick's for a quick chat and we also stopped at Uncle Dick's house just in time to see them planting beautiful plants for Aunt Theresa. Then we began our long trek bk to the nations capitol. Upon our arrival 6hours later at home, our power went out and stayed out for the next 24 hours. Due to the rain and winds, a tree fell on the power lines at the end of our block and knocked off all of the electricity in the houses in our complex. Luckily we had some Mangialardos garlic pizza with us to keep us going!!!
